USA was raring to go in today's first game of the preliminary round v. Italy. In fact, USA may have overskated their opponent, causing them to look a bit sloppy in the first period. After getting used to the pace, the team settled down and beat Italy 5-1. Our youngest players were unstoppable, with Declan Farmer, age 16, and Brody Royba, age 15, scoring their first Paralympic goals. Taylor Chace played solid defense throughout, assisting on Farmer's goal and landing in the penalty box only once for "T-ing" in a worthwhile effort to thwart a breakaway by Italy. Great start, USA. Next up USA v. Korea March 9 at 4:30pm Sochi time. Check NBC and NBCSN for game broadcast schedule.
